Description

The Atlas Air Force AF10 is a 10HP two-stage commercial air compressor built on a 120-gallon horizontal steel tank made in the USA. Its 3-cylinder pump delivers 37 CFM at 90 PSI and 35 CFM at 175 PSI, with a working range of 145–175 PSI. It is sized for busy automotive shops, body shops, and high-throughput service facilities where several technicians draw air at the same time and a smaller single-stage compressor can’t keep up with sustained demand.

The AF10 ships with the Atlas Plus Package: an air-cooled aftercooler, automatic low-oil shut-off, and automatic tank drain. These three features extend pump life, knock condensate out of the air on its way to the tank, and remove tank water without manual valve cycling. The unit runs on 220V, 3-phase service through an included magnetic starter that buffers the motor against electrical input swings.

Plus Package

Air-cooled aftercooler

The aftercooler sits between the pump and the tank. Compressed air leaves the pump hot and full of water vapor; the aftercooler drops the air temperature before it reaches the tank, which condenses moisture into liquid that the tank drain removes. Tools downstream see drier air, which is the difference between a paint job that flashes evenly and one that fish-eyes.

Automatic low-oil shut-off

An oil-level sensor on the pump cuts power if the oil drops below the safe operating level. Catastrophic compressor failures most often start with low oil running through a hot pump; this sensor takes the failure mode off the table.

Automatic tank drain

A timer-controlled solenoid drain opens on a programmable interval to purge condensate from the tank. The dials set on-seconds (how long the valve opens) and off-minutes (interval between drains), so the shop can tune it to local humidity without anyone having to crack the manual drain at the end of every day.

Features

  • 2-stage, 3-cylinder pump — staged compression for higher delivered CFM at working pressure than a single-stage of equivalent horsepower.
  • 10 HP motor, 1,750 RPM — belt-driven, sized for continuous commercial duty.
  • 120-gallon horizontal steel tank, made in the USA — large reserve flattens pressure dips during heavy tool use.
  • Magnetic starter included — protects the motor from line-voltage fluctuation and adds to overall unit longevity.
  • Continuous run option — removes start-stop surge cycles from the motor when air demand stays high.
  • Heavy-duty metal belt guard — protects belt drive from debris and incidental contact.
  • Vibro-isolation pad set — reduces vibration transfer into the floor.
  • Finned tank inlet tube — sheds heat between aftercooler and tank for reduced tank-water accumulation.
  • Hands-free tank drain extension — routes the drain valve to an accessible location.
  • Compressor oil drain extension tube — makes scheduled oil changes a tube-into-bucket job rather than a contortion under the pump.

FAQ

What electrical service does the AF10 need?

220V three-phase with a 30-amp breaker. Atlas recommends 10-gauge wire and a maximum 70-foot run from the breaker to the unit. This compressor will not run on single-phase service.

Is the tank made in the USA?

Yes — the 120-gallon horizontal steel tank is manufactured in the USA.

What does the Plus Package include?

Three features bundled with every AF10: an air-cooled aftercooler that drops air temperature before the tank, an automatic low-oil shut-off that protects the pump from running dry, and an automatic tank drain that purges condensate on a programmable interval.

What is the warranty?

1-year parts warranty on the compressor.

What CFM should I expect at shop pressure?

37 CFM delivered at 90 PSI and 35 CFM delivered at 175 PSI. The compressor cycles between 145 and 175 PSI.

What is included in the box?

The AF10 ships with the Plus Package (aftercooler, low-oil shut-off, auto tank drain), a magnetic starter, vibro-isolation pads, a hands-free tank drain extension, a compressor oil drain extension tube, and the heavy-duty metal belt guard.
